Vehicle trips will primarily come from the north in Leeds, which will help ensure that key roads to the south, such as Wakefield Road, are less impacted.
-
We expect between four and five cremations per day (Monday to Friday) between 10 am and 4 pm. Services will not be held during the peak travel times.
-
While we do not expect the car park to be full every day, we are undertaking both “worst-case” and “average attendance” vehicle modelling to assess potential traffic generation and its impact on nearby roads and junctions, including Methley Lane and the Methley Lane/Wakefield Road roundabout.
-
If mitigation measures are required, we will work with Leeds Council’s highways department to agree on appropriate solutions. Overall, we do not anticipate a significant traffic impact from the crematorium.

This site is well served by public transport. We are exploring measures to encourage non-car travel including for crematorium staff, with a focus on cycling, walking, car sharing, and bus use.
